1923 – Stansfield Turner, born on the 1st of December in Highland Park, Illinois. He was an Admiral and Director of Central Intelligence. He is currently a senior research scholar at the University of Maryland, College Park School of Public Policy . He is a Christian Scientist.

1946 – Attained a commission in the United States Navy in June.

1947 – Attended Amherst College, and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy.

1972 – 1974 – He served as president of Naval War College, where he successfully introduced a radical improvement of that College’s curriculum, introducing educational approaches based on his experience as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University.

1977 – 1981 – He commanded the Southern region of NATO and was subsequently Director of Central Intelligence.

2005 – He has written several books, including, Burn Before Reading: Presidents, CIA Directors, and Secret Intelligence, in which he advocates disbanding the CIA.

2006 – In the January issue of GQ magazine, former President Jimmy Carter reported that he hired a psychic to help locate a US plane that had been lost in Central Africa.
