1954 – Stephen Michael Largent, born on the 28th of September in in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a retired football player, enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and a former U.S. Congressman.

1972 – Graduated in Putnam City High School, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

1976 – He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tulsa.

1989 – In recognition of a lifetime of achievement, Steve was awarded the Golden Plate Award by the American Academy of Achievement.

1988 –  He was recognized as the NFL Man of the Year for his commitment to community service.
       – He was also named as the first recipient of the Bart Starr Award by the Athletes in Action for serving as an exemplary role model both on and off the field.

1990 – He was named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Americans by the Jaycees.

1994 – Won Oklahoma’s 1st District seat. He served over seven years as a Member of the United States Congress, representing the First Congressional District.

1995 – Inducted into the National Football Hall of Fame.

1997 – A member of the National Football League Hall of Fame, he was a record setting pass receiver with the Seattle Seahawks for 14 years. He set six different career records and participated in seven Pro Bowls.
