?? AC – Born in Bethsaida in Galilee.  He was the brother of Andrew, son of Jona (John), and probably the oldest of Jesus’ twelve disciples.

10-26 AD – Simon worked as a fisherman.

26 AD – Jesus told Simon to follow him and changed his name to Peter.

26-30 AD – Peter followed Jesus as one of the twelve.  He also was in Jesus’ inner circle of three disciples.  He correctly confessed Jesus as the "Christ, the Son of God", but often acted on impulse as is seen when he attempts to cut off the ear of the guard in Garden of Gethsemane.

30 AD – Peter denied knowing Jesus three times before Jesus was crucified.  After Jesus’ resurrection, Peter and John ran to the tomb.  Jesus appeared to Peter several times before finally ascending into heaven.  Peter became the leader of the believers and preached on Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came onto believers and 3,000 were saved.

30-48 AD – Peter preached in Jerusalem, Samaria, and to Gentiles.

49 AD – Peter was present at the Jerusalem Council and gave a speech.

63? AD – Peter wrote the epistles called I and II Peter while in Rome.

67 or 68 AD – Peter was martyred in Rome.  Tradition states he was crucified upside-down.
