1969 – Born in Hawera, Taranaki on the 23rd of February.
1988 – He began representing New Zealand in international amateur competitions.
1992 – Australian Amateur Championship, New South Wales Amateur Championship.
1993 – Turned professional.
1998 – He developed wrist problems, dropping dramatically in form, and did not fully recover.
2000 – He eventually established himself as a solid tour performer, finishing fourth on the European Tour Order of Merit.
2002 – He finishing in the top ten of the Order of Merit.
2005 – He had to go through sectional qualifying. He took advantage of the fact that the United States Golf Association, the organizers of the US Open, introduced European qualifying for the first time. – On the 29th of October, he was awarded with the Honorary Life Membership of The European Tour for his U.S. Open win.
2006 – He won the HSBC World Match Play Championship.
