1940 – Born on August 22nd in Riverview, Michigan. An AMerican Christian evangelist and football coach.

1982 – Was head football coach of the University of Colorado.

1989 – Became the Walter Camp Coach of the Year.

         – Received Paul "Bear" Bryant Award.

1990 – He founded Promise Keepers.

         – He wrote the autobiography "From Ashes to Glory".

1996 – Inducted in the Orange Bowl Hall of Fame.

1997 – He wrote "Sold Out: Becoming Man Enough to Make a Difference" and organized "Stand in the Gap: A Sacred Assembly of Men" Promise Keepers convocation in Washington D.C.

1999 – Inducted into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame.
