1943 – Born on January 14th in Shanghai, China. Chinese-American astronaut and biochemist.

1960 – Graduated from Bethany High School, Bethany, Oklahoma.

1963 – Received a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the University of Oklahoma.

1968 – Married to Michael F. Lucid.

1970-1973 – Received her master of science and doctor of philosophy degrees in biochemistry from the University of Oklahoma.

1985 – Her first space mission was on board Discovery/STS-51G.

1989 – Her second space mission was on board Atlantis/STS-34.

1991 – Her third space mission was on board Atlantsi/STS-43.

1993 – Her fourth space mission was on board Columbia/STS-58.

1996 – Currently holds the United States single mission space flight endurance record on the Russian Space Station Mir. Her journey started with liftoff at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Florida, on March 22nd aboard STS-76 Atlantis.

         – Her return journey to KSC was made aboard STS-79 Atlantis on September 26th.

         – Recipient of the COngressional Space Medal of Honor.
