His deep booming voice earned him the nickname of "Voice of Doom" during WW 11
1939-1942 he was chief nes broadcaster for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC)
Served in armed forces in WW 11
After the war he returned to Toronto and was co-founder of Jupiter Theatre
1953 moved to the United states and acted on Broadway
1959 – began 14 year caree as "Pa" Ben Cartwight on the hit TV series Bonanza
1980’s worked for wildlife and environmental protection which he promoted through his TV series "Lorn Greene’s New Wilderness
2006 – Canada Post Office issued a commemorative stamp with his image on it as part of a series on famous Canadian people in Hollywood.
