1895 – Born in Madanapalle, India on the 12th of May.
1903 – The family settled in Cudappah where Krishnamurti in a previous stay had contracted malaria, a disease with which he would suffer recurrent bouts over many years.
1920 – He spent much time in the U.S. and Europe.
1929 – He broke with formal theosophy and renounced any claims to being a World Teacher, but he continued to be a popular lecturer. His desire, he said, was to set people free, a goal that could only be achieved through unflinching self-awareness.
1956 – Commentaries on Living.
1969 – He headed the Krishnamurti Foundation.
