1950 – Carney first became interested in The Honeymooners at the suggestion of writers Arne Rosen and Coleman Jacoby, who were then writing for Jackie Gleason on DuMont’s Cavalcade of Stars.

1962 – He rejoined The Honeymooners for guest spots on ‘The American Scene Magazine’.

1965 – He starred in the Broadway play "The Odd Couple".

1966 – Married to Barbara Isaac on December 21st.

1969 – Was nominated for Broadway’s Tony Award as Best Actor (Dramatic) for Brian Friel’s "Lovers".

1974 – He starred in the movie, "Harry and Tonto".

1980 – Married to Jean Myers.

1984 – His role in the telefilm Terrible Joe Moran won him an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Special.

2003 – Died on November 9th in Westbrook, Connecticut.
