1932 – Otis Blackwell was born in Brooklyn, New York on the 16th of February.

He became famous by winning a local talent contest at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York.

Wrote songs for Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Dee Clark.

He wrote songs "All Shook Up", "Don’t Be Cruel", "Great Balls of Fire".

1986 – Inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

1991 – National Academy of Popular Music’s Songwriters Hall of Fame.

2002 – He died of a heart attack on 6th of May and was interred in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Nashville.
