1905 – Ernst Jaakson was born of Estonian parents in Riga, Latvia on 11th of August.

Studied economy at the University of Latvia and law at the University of Tartu.

Graduated from Columbia University with the BA degree in economics.

1919 – Jaakson began work in the Estonian Embassy in Riga.

1926-1928 – Fulfilled his national service obligation.

1928 – Started work in the Information Division of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

1929-1932 – Worked as the secretary of the Estonian honorary consul in San Francisco.

1932 – Assigned to the Estonian Consulate General in New York.

1965 – Became the consul in charge of legation.

1991 – Appointed Estonia’s Ambassador to the United States and Estonia’s permanent representative to the United Nations.

1993 – Continued his work as the Estonian Consul General in New York.

1995 – President Lennart Meri awarded him with the I Class Order of the National Coat of Arms.

1998 – Ernst Jaakson died in New York on 4th of September in New York, USA.
