1951 – Jan Krzysztof Bielecki was born on the 3rd of March. President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank Pekao S.A.

         – Formerly Prime Minister of Poland, Minister for European Integration, co-founder of the Liberal-Democratic Congress and Freedom Union, and an Executive Director at the European Bank in London, Jan Krzysztof Bielecki has been active in the political and economic affairs of Poland for over two decades.

1973-1981 – Bielecki started his career as an economic lecturer at Gdansk University, until losing his job for his anti-Communist political activities.

         – Bielecki was an advisor to Solidarnoœæ on economic policy.

1985 – Bielecki was the Chief Executive Officer of ‘Doradca’ – a consulting co-operative in Gdansk.

1990 – He joined the Liberal-Democratic Congress, which became part of the Freedom Union in 1994.

1991 – The newly elected President WaB sa requested Mr Bielecki to form a government and the Parliament confirmed him as Prime Minister on January 5th.

         – Served as Prime Minister of Poland.

1992 – Served as Minister for European Integration in the cabinet of Hanna Suchocka.

1993 – Was appointed to the Board of Directors at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London, where he represented Poland.

1997 – He is co-author of the book ‘Histoire de l’Europe’ published in Paris.

2001 – Bielecki joined the newly founded Civic Platform (Platforma Obywatelska, PO).

2003 – He joined Bank Pekao SA in October.
