1808-1846 – He was a professor at Andover Theological Seminary and later became the seminary’s chair of Christian theology.

         – He wrote Lectures on the Inspiration of the Scriptures, Memoirs of American Missionaries, Examination of the Doctrine of Perfection, and Lectures on Church Government.

1848 – His last book, History of Andover Seminary, was completed by his son, Leonard Woods Jr.

1854 – He died on August 24th.
