1949 – Born on the 30th of April in the City of Medellin, Colombia.  – He holds a B.A. in Economics from State University of New York at Stony Brook, class 1975 –

He holds an M.A. in International Relations from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia, class. 2000 –

Professor Vallejo-Mejía´s text book "Competencia y Estrategia Empresarial" (Competitive and Strategic Entrepreneurship) was published by Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogotá 2003, while serving the subject with the same name, in the Master’s Program in Economics at the Univierdity of Javeriana.

Since january, 2004 Vallejo-Mejía has been serving the subjects in International Relations History, in the undergraduate level, at the Universidad EAFIT, Medellin, Colombia, Department of International Business, as a full time associate professor. He also serves the subject of International Business at the Graduate program.

2006 – The book "Historia de las relaciones internacionales, desde las Guerras del Peloploneso hasta las Guerras del Opio" was published in July by Fondo Editorial Universidad EAFIT, Medellin, Colombia.

2007 – Published "Los Grandes cambios del Siglo XIX" through Fondo Editorial EAFIT, which was launched on thursday, May 24th, in the Auditorium 38-125 at the Universidad EAFIT. This book is aiming at completing the main textbooks for the subject "Historia de las Relaciones Internacionales 1" at the same university. In May 27, 2007, Gestiopolis.com published Vallejo´s online article "Competitividad" which may be found in:   http://www.gestiopolis.com/canales8/eco/competitividad-y-competitividad-mundial.htm .
