1892 - Born on April 15th in Haarlem, in the Netherlands.
- She also became the first licensed woman watchmaker in the Netherlands.
1940 - On May 10th, Nazi armies invaded the Netherlands. German soldiers, having overtaken the country, inundated ten Boom's Haarlem.
- With family, helped shelter Jews from Nazis during World War II, saving roughly 700 Jews following German invasion of Netherlands by hiding Jewish fugitives in secret compartment at home.
1942 - Thus began "the hiding place," or el beje, as it was known in Dutch. Ten Boom and her sister began taking in refugees, some of whom were Jews, others members of the resistance movement the Gestapo, or German secret police, and its Dutch counterpart were seeking.
1944 - On February 28th, a man came into their shop and asked Corrie to help him. He stated that he and his wife had been hiding Jews and that she had been arrested.
- She was arrested and sent to Ravensbrueck concentration camp, but released due to clerical error.
1947 - She had come from Holland to defeated Germany with the message that God forgives.
1971-1974 - Co-wrote memoirs "The Hiding Place" and "Tramp for the Lord".
1983 - Corrie died on April 15th in Orange, California, on her ninety-first birthday.
