David “Chase” Highley is the Founder and current CEO of MyTownUSA. He was born on January 31st, 1990 in Winter Haven, Florida. His Mother was an elementary school teacher and his father was originally a teacher as well until he started his own business in 1994 called Lone Mountain Farm. His father moved the family to Morganton, North Carolina in 1993 and they currently reside there. Lone Mountain operates as a Wilderness Camp and educational tours for school field trips.
Highley graduated from high school in 2008, earning both his high school degree and two-year degree from Western Piedmont Community College in Morganton North Carolina. He then pursued a business in finance degree at Warner University in Lake Wales Florida, where he was a recipient of an academic scholarship and athletic scholarship for playing on the men’s golf team. While in college, Chase worked several jobs while attending Warner, serving as an academic tutor for in Warner’s Academic Skill’s Center helping fellow students in advanced math, statistics, business classes – such as Accounting, Economics, and other Finance classes.
His other job included working at an upscale private golf club, called Mountain Lake Golf Club in Lake Wales, Florida where he served as the locker room manager. Later on in 2011 he would work as an assistant in the pro shop after earning his 4 year degree from Warner University in May of 2011.
In 2012, Highley decided to move back to Morganton North Carolina in hopes of starting his own business. In order for him to raise capital to start his own business venture, he took a job job as Assistant Manager and head Teaching Professional at a local golf course in the city Morganton called Quaker Meadows Golf Course.
In the fall of 2013, Chase married Amanda Walden on his family’s farm in the foothills North Carolina. Soon afterward, he was promoted to the position of General Manager and continued as Head Teaching Professional at Quaker Meadows Golf Course as well. Towards the end of 2013, Chase had an idea for a business.
As a recent college graduate and newly wed, Chase soon began searching for ways to “stretch a dollar” in his hometown of Morganton, North Carolina. He noticed right off that his town (as well as most others for that matter) was sorely lacking in consumer and business friendly web based marketing venues, which would effectively help him find the good local deals that he and his wife were looking for. Towards the end of 2014, Chase decided to leave the golf business and put is idea for MyTownUSA into action.
So, in 2015 January Chase founded and launched MyTownUSA, a 21st century marketing company that provides support for both local businesses and consumers. At MyTownUSA Chase and his team are continually working to create a place where one day, with just a click or a tap, every consumer in America can find the best services and products that their town has to offer. Chase currently resides in Morganton, North Carolina and is a web designer and developer for small businesses in Morganton and Hickory NC.
