1917 – He was born in the city of Ruian of Zhejiang. During his schooldays, he was an active member in the anti-imperialism movement.
1936 – He entered the economics department at the National Central University .
1949 – In the spring of this year, he worked in Shanghai in a secret economic news office led by the underground Communist Party. He designed the flag and has been rewarded 5 million Yuan and a CPPCC album after it was finally approved. It was first displayed by Mao Zedong on October of the same year at the founding of the PRC in Tiananmen Square.
1999 – He died at the age of 82
