Zandonai, Riccardo

1883 – Born on the 28^th day of May in Sacco di Rovereto

1899 – He entered at Presaro Conservatorio taking musical studies.

1902 – He finished his nine-year curriculum in three years and got a high grade from Pietro Mascagani. He also made an essay for his graduation talk II Ritorno Di Odisseo based on the poem of Giovanni Pascoli and he also did another poem Il Sogno di Rosetta.

1908 – He became famous on his opera Francesca da Rimini, an adaptation of a tragedy.

1916 – He composed a song called “For the Motherland” Alla Patria which he dedicates it to Italy.

1935 – He became the Director of Pesaro Conservatorio, his beloved Alma Mater.

1941 – He re-orchestrated and reduced La Gazza Ladra into three acts.

1944 – After undergoing gallstone surgery, Zandonai died inat Pesaro saying “Good! Viva l'Italia”
