1890 - Born on the 4th of July in Vitebsk, Belarus of Jewish and Scottish extraction. His career began within the cubist movement
1920s-1930s - His type of work were more of baroque and romantic style in mood and form
1949 - He had retrospective exhibition in the Musie National d'Art Moderne in Paris
1950 - Won at the Venice Biennale for the sculpture prize
1953 - His Broze monument, The Destroyed City, was unveiled at the Rotterdam's harbor entrance
1967 - He died on the 25th of November.
