Yzerman, Steve
1965 – He was born on May 9 of this year in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada. He grew up in the Ottawa suburb of Nepean, Ontario.
1983 – He was runner up for the Calder Trophy to Tom Barrasso and was selected to the NHL All-Rookie Team.
1986 – He is the current longest tenured captain in the NHL, he was given the honor at the age of 21.
1989 – He married Lisa Brennan and blessed both of them with three children.
1998 – He won the Conn Smythe Trophy as Playoff MVP.
2000 – He was the recipient of the Frank Selke Award for best defensive player.
2004 – He Won the World Cup.
2006 – He retired from playing hockey this year.
