Wu, Chien-shiung
1912 - Born on the 13th of May in Shanghai, China.
1929 - She was admitted to the National Central University in Nanjing.
1930 - 1934 - She studied in the Physics Department of National Central University (renamed Nanjing University).
1936 - She went to the USA with a female friend, Dong Ruofen, a chemist from Taicang.
1940 - Studied at the University of California, Berkeley and received her Ph.D.
1956 - She assisted Tsung-Dao Lee personally in his parity laws development (with Chen Ning Yang) by providing him with a possible test method for beta decay that worked successfully.
1975 - The first female President of the American Physical Society.
1997 - Died on the 16th of February due to her second stroke.
