1933 - William Wrigley III, born on the 21st of January in Chicago, Illinois. was President of the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, founded by his grandfather William Wrigley, Jr.

1961 - The company enjoyed a substantial lead in the chewing gum industry during his early years with the firm, by the time he assumed the presidency.

1977 - He inherited ownership of the Chicago Cubs.

1981 - He sold the team to the Chicago Tribune.

1999 - Died on the 8th of March in Chicago.
