2004 – He helped, NBC’s parent company, General Electric, in acquiring Vivendi Universal Entertainment to create NBC Universal.
– After his grandson was diagnosed with autism, he and his wife, Suzanne, established a foundation called Autism Speaks, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for autism. His three children Katie, Chris and Maggie, all reside in New York City.
2007 – GE boss Jeffrey Immelt replaced Wright with Jeff Zucker, who was named president and CEO of NBC Universal. Wright will remain chairman of the media group until May 2007 as well as vice chairman of GE until 2008
