1774 - Born on June 19th. An American clergyman.

1796 - Graduated from Harvard University.

1798 - He was an ordained pastor of the Cpngregational Church at West Newbury, Massachusetts.

1808-1846 - He was a professor at Andover Theological Seminary and later became the seminary's chair of Christian theology.

         - He wrote Lectures on the Inspiration of the Scriptures, Memoirs of American Missionaries, Examination of the Doctrine of Perfection, and Lectures on Church Government.

1848 - His last book, History of Andover Seminary, was completed by his son, Leonard Woods Jr.

1854 - He died on August 24th.
