Wood, Robert
1868 – An American physicist was born this year in Concord, Massachusetts.
1901 – He was professor of experimental physics at Johns Hopkins University. He is probably best known for his work discrediting the phenomenon of N rays.
1905 – He published the book “Physical Optics”.
1907 – He also published his book “How to Tell the Birds from the Flowers and Other Wood-Cuts”, a revised manual of Flornithology for beginners.
1940 – He won the Henry Draper Medal of the National Academy of Sciences for his contributions to astrophysics
1955 – He died this year in Amityville, New York.
