1883 – Born on the 24th of January.
1916 – She moved to the United States and made her Broadway debut.
1920 – She expressed a distaste for films and resisted the offers she received.
1930 – She divided her time between New York and London.
1933 – Her official film debut came The House of Trent and Quality Street was her first role of note.
1940 – She made no cinematic films during but expressed a willingness to participate in the new medium of television, starring in a television production of Blithe Spirit.
1950 – She appeared more frequently in television that she did in film in such series as Robert Montgomery Presents, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and The Donna Reed Show.
1955-1956 – Her few films from that period include The Glass Slipper and The Swan.
1959 – Her other film credits include Darby O’Gill and the Little People.
1961 – The Misfits.
1962 – The Notorious Landlady.
1964 – Dead Ringer.
1967 – Camelot.
1968 – The Producers.
1984 – Died in her sleep in Woodland Hills, California on the 20th of June aged 101.
