1968 - Born on September 25th in Philadelphia, Pennysylvania. American actor and singer.

1985 - Attended Our Lady of Lourdes Grade School and graduated from Overbrook High School where he obtained the nickname "Fresh Prince".

1987 - Pursued his career as a rapper as the MC of the hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince with his childhood friend Jeffrey "DJ Jazzy Jeff" Townes and Ready Rock C (Clarence Holmes) as the human beat box.

1989-1990 - He met Benny Medina, who had an idea for a sitcom based on his life in Beverly Hills. Smith loved the idea as did NBC which put on the "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air".

         - Received the first ever Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance, for the song "Parents Just Don't Understand" in with his partner Jeffrey A. Townes.

         - Won a Grammy Award for the song "Summertime" during his rap career.

1991 - He rapped a few lines in the Gulf War Song entitled "Voices That Care".

1992 - Married to Sheree Zampino on May 9th.

1993 - Ventured into movies where the critics took note of him in "Six Degrees of Separation".

         - Hosted the Presidential Inaugural Celebration for Youth, as part of the Gala for President Bill Clinton.

1995 - His movie career was set after "Bad Boys".

1996 - His had a huge hit with the Blockbuster "Independence Day" where he plays the alien-battling Marine Corps Captain Steven Hiller.

1997 - Married to Jada Pinkett Smith on December 31st.

1999 - Turned down the role of Neo in "The Matrix" instead he starred in the movie "Wild Wild West".

         - He was named "Entertainer of the Year" by the NAACP Image Awards.

2001 - Portrayed Muhammad Ali in the biopic movie "Ali".

2002 - Starred in the movie, "Men In Black II".

2003 - Starred in the movie, "Bad Boys II".

2004 - Starred in the movie, "I, Robot" as Detective Del Spooner and provided the voice of Oscar in the movie "Shark Tale".

2005 - Produced and starred in the movie "Hitch" as the professional date doctor Alex Hitchens.
 
2006 - The drama film, "The Pursuit of Happyness" which he starred and produced was released on the 15th of December.

2007 - Had to undergo treatment on his shoulder in a New York hospital after he suffered a strain.

         - On the 25th of February, he was nominated Oscar's Best Actor in the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness" directed by Gabriele Muccino.
