1876 - Born in Berlin on the 15th of September.

1896 - Walter took a conducting position at the opera house in Breslau a job found for him by Mahler.

1897 - He took an opera-conducting position at Pressburg.

1898 - He took one in Riga.

1901 - Walter accepted Mahler's invitation to be his assistant at the Court Opera in Vienna.

1911 - Walter became an Austrian citizen.

1913 - He left Vienna to become the Royal Bavarian Music Director in Munich.

1923-1961 - Walter's work was documented on hundreds of recordings.

1962 - Died on the 17th of February.
