1918 – Born on the 21st of December at Sankt Andra-Wordern, Austria.

 

1936 – He attended the Vienna Consular Academy.

 

1944 – He graduated from the University of Vienna as a Doctor of Jurisprudence.

 

1945 – He joined the Austrian diplomatic service.

 

1948 – He served as First Secretary of the Legation in Paris.

 

1951 – He was head of the personnel department of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Vienna.

 

1955 – He was appointed Permanent Observer for Austria to the United Nations.

 

1956 – Represented Austria in Canada as Minister Plenipotentiary.

 

1960 – He was head of the Political Department (West) in the Austrian Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

 

1964 – He was Chairman of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.

 

1968 – He was elected President of the first United Nations Conference on the Exploration and Peaceful

Uses of Outer Space.

 

       – Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Austria.
