Wainwright, Jonathan Mayhew
1883 - He was born on the 23rd of August at Fort Walla Walla, Washington.
1901 - He graduated high school at Highland Park High School.
1906 - He graduated at United States Military Academy (West Point)
1916 - He was promoted to a Captain.
1917 - He was on the staff of the first officer training camp at Plattsburgh New York.
1918 - He became Assistant Chief-of-Staff of the U.S. 82nd Infantry Division.
1920 - He was then promoted to Major.
1921 - He was assigned to the U.S. 3rd Cavalry Regiment,
Fort Myer, Virginia.
1929 - Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and graduated from the Command and General Staff School,
Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
1935 - He was promoted to Colonel, served as commander of the 3rd Cavalry.
1938 -He was promoted to Brigadier General in command of the 1st Cavalry regiment at Fort Clark, Texas.
1940 - In September he was promoted to Major General and returned to the Philippines, as
commander of the Philippine Department.
1941 - Responsible for resisting the Japanese invasion of the Philippines.
1945 - He received his 4th star General.
1946 - Became the commander of the 4th Army, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
1947 - He retired in August.
