1971 - Born on June 5th in Dorchester, Massachusetts. American singer, actor and television producer.

1985 - Joined the group "New Kids on the Block" with his brother, Donnie, but quit before it became a success.

1988 - He was arrested for harassing American African school kids and attacking a Vietnamese man that led to his imprisonment for 45 days.

1991 - Formed his own group as 'Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch' after leaving New Kids on the Block.

         - The album "Music for the People" earned a platinum on the strength of the singles "Good Vibrations" and "Wildside".

1992 - Signed a two-year contract as Calvin Klein's underwear model.

1993 - His TV-movie acting debut in "The Substitute" wasn't particularly challenging or interesting, and his career could have easily ended there but attracted to business, he persevered.

1994 - The movie "Renaissance Man" gave him positive notices which was co-starred by Danny De Vito.

1997 - He gained respect from his performance as a busboy-turned-porn star in Paul Thomas Anderson's "Boogie Nights" that earned 3 nominations from Oscar Awards.

2004 - Produced the HBO series "Entourage" that earned Emmy nominations for Best Comedy Series.

2006 - Martin Scorsese directed Wahlberg to his very first Academy Award nomination as "Sgt. Sean Dignam" in "The Departed".

2007 - On the 25th of February, he was nominated Oscar's Best Supporting Actor in the movie "The Departed" directed by Martin Scorsese.
