1590 – Born on January 9th in Paris, France. French painter who introduced an Italianate Baroque style of painting into France.

1611 – Trained by his sign-painter father, the fourteen-year-old Vouet painted a portrait in England and accompanied France’s ambassador to Constantinople.

1612-1617 – Vouet formed his style in Italy, where he lived for five years.

1642 – Famous and respected, he was president of Rome’s Accademia di San Luca.

1648 – He established the Académie Royale.

1649 – Died on June 30th in Paris.
