Voight, Jon
1938 – He was born on the 29th day of December this year in Yonkers, New York City. He is perhaps better known to youthful audiences as the father of Oscar-winner Angelina Jolie.
1962 – He was married to Lauri Peters and separated with her in 1967. He found work in television, appearing in several episodes of Gun smoke.
1969 – He starred in 1969’s Best Picture winner, Midnight Cowboy, for which he earned his first Academy Award nomination for his role as a hustler.
1971 – He was married again to Marcheline Bertrand and they lived together until 1978.
1972 – He built his reputation with an array of challenging roles and has appeared in such landmark films as this year’s awesome flick “Deliverance.”
1973 – He played a directionless young boxer in “The All American Boy.”
1978 – He assumed a role that would earn him a second major triumph, that of the paraplegic Vietnam vet Luke Martin in the Hal Ashby-directed Coming Home.
1982 – He next re-teamed with director Ashby in Lookin' to Get Out.
1991 – He made his first foray into television movies, acting in Chernobyl
2005 – He joined Nicholas Cage, in the mega-hit National Treasure.
