1954 - Born on the 3rd of October in Dallas, Texas. Electric guitar player, vocalist and leader of the blues band "Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble" which also included Chris Layton on drums, Tommy Shannon on bass guitar and Reese Wynans on electric keyboards.

1971 - By the time he was 17, he had dropped out of high school to concentrate on playing music.

1975 - He formed Triple Threat, who featured bassist Jackie Newhouse, drummer Chris Layton, and vocalist Lou Ann Barton.

1979 - Married Lenora "Lenny" Darlene Bailey on December 30th.

1982 - The band played the Montreux Festival and their performance caught the attention of David Bowie and Jackson Browne.

1983 - Vaughan's debut album, Texas Flood, was released in the summer, a few months after "Bowie's Let's Dance" appeared.

1987 - He appeared in the movie " Back to the Beach".

1988 - He divorced his wife.

1990 - Died on August 27th from a helicopter crash in Alpine Valley, Wisconsin. His tragic death only emphasized his influence in blues and American rock roll.
