1957 – He was born John Michael Turturro on the 28th day of February this year in Brooklyn, New York.

1983 – He created the title role of John Patrick Shanley's Danny and the Deep Blue Sea at the Playwrights Conference at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center in this year. He repeated it the following year off-Broadway and won an Obie Award.

1985 – He was noted for his performances in To Live and Die in L.A.

1989 – He made a great performance in the movie “Do The Right Thing”.

1990 - Turturro also had an extended collaboration with the Coen Brothers, appearing in their films Miller's Crossing.

1991 – He made a notable role as Barton Fink in the movie “Barton Fink”.

1999 – He produced, directed, and acted in the film Illuminata, which also starred his wife Katherine Borowitz.

2000 – He made the movie “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”

2005 - He wrote and directed the film Romance and Cigarettes. He recently appeared in Robert DeNiro's The Good Shepherd as the right hand man of C.I.A. man Edward Wilson (Matt Damon).
