1775 - Born in Covent Garden, London, England on the 23rd of April.
1785 - Turner was sent to stay with his uncle on his mother's side in Brentford, which was then a small town west of London on the banks of the River Thames.
1789 - He entered the Royal Academy of Art schools when he was only 14 years old, and was accepted into the academy a year later.
1802 - Turner travelled widely in Europe, starting with France and Switzerland and studying in the Louvre in Paris in the same year.
1851 - He died in the house of his mistress Mrs Sophia Caroline Booth in Cheyne Walk, Chelsea on 19th of December.
