Troyon, Constant

1810 - Born on the 28th of August.

         - Troyon was an animal painter of the first rank, and was closely associated with the artists who painted around Barbizon.

1840-1847 - Roqueplan introduced Troyon to Rousseau, Jules Dupré, and the other Barbizon painters, and in his pictures and he seemed to endeavour to follow in their footsteps.

1846 - Troyon went to the Netherlands, and at the Hague saw Paul Potter's famous "Young Bull".

Died on the 21st of February and was buried in the Cimetière de Montmartre in the Montmartre Quarter of Paris.
