534 – Taliesin or Taliessin born as a Welsh, is the earliest poet of the Welsh language whose work has survived.

542 – Only a few years earlier than the date, found in the Historia Regum Britanniae.

555 – The poems ascribed to him indicate that he later became court bard to King Brochwel Ysgithrog of Powys, then to his successor Cynan Garwyn, and lastly to King Urien of Rheged and his son Owain mab Urien.

599 – Died as a Celtic mythical character.
