1861 - Helen Louise Herron Taft, born on the 2nd of June in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was wife of William Howard Taft, was First Lady of the United States.

1879 - She met William Taft at a sledding party at age 18.

1886 - Married to William Howard Taft.

1909 - 1913 - She was First Lady of the United States.

1911 - During four years famous for social events, the most famous was an evening garden party for several thousand guests on the Tafts' silver wedding anniversary.

1921 - Her husband was appointed Chief Justice of the United States and she continued to live in the capital.

1943 - She died at her home on the 22nd of May, aged 81.
