1937 - Barry Switzer, born on the 5th of October in Crosett, Arkansas. He has one of the highest winning percentages of any college football coach in history, and is one of only two head coaches to win both a college football national championship and a Super Bowl.
1960 - As an assistant football coach at the University of Arkansas, two of his players were Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson.
1973 - 1988 - Head coach of Oklahoma University football team.
1974 - 1985 - Guiding the Sooners to national championships.
1983 - 1986 - Coached football player-turned-actor Brian Bosworth at Oklahoma.
1987 - Johnson guided the Miami Hurricanes to the No. 1 ranking, after beating his Oklahoma Sooners 20-14 in Orange Bowl.
1994 - 1997 - Head coach of the National Football League's Dallas Cowboys.
1994 - Jones purchased the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, and hired Switzer to replace Johnson.
- He and Jimmy Johnson, who he succeeded as the Cowboys' head coach, are the only coaches to win both a national championship and a Super Bowl.
2002 - Received the College Football Hall of Fame.
