1939 - Attended Utah State University in Logan in class of 39', where she received a bachelor's degree.

1959 - 1966 - She worked as an editor at New Directions publishers.

1980 - 1989 - She also served as a Chancellor of The Academy of American Poets.

1989 - Died on the 4th of December in Bethany Beach, Delaware.
