Sutherland, George
1862 - Born on March 25th in in Buckinghamshire, England. Representative and a Senator from Utah.
1863 - Immigrated to the United States with his parents, who were Mormon converts, and settled in Springville, Utah County, Utah.
1883 - Studied law at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and admitted to the bar then commenced practice in Provo, Utah.
1890 - An unsuccessful candidate for mayor of Provo.
1892 - An unsuccessful candidate for Territorial representative in Congress.
1897 - A member of the State Senate.
1901-1903 - Elected as a Republican to the Fifty-seventh Congress.
1904 - Elected as a Republican to the United States Senate.
1905 - Senator from Utah.
1916-1917 - President of the American Bar Association.
1922 - Appointed by President Warren Harding in September an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.
1942 - Died on July 18th in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
