1949 – She was born Mary Louise Streep on the 22nd day of June this year in Summit, New Jersey. She received her B.A. in Drama at Vassar College and earned a M.F.A. from the Yale School of Drama at Yale University.

 

1971 – She had her debut on stage in the play “The Playboy of Seville”.

 

1977 – She had her screen debut in this year’s made-for-television movie The Deadliest Season.

 

1978 – She won in the Emmy Awards for Best Actress in the mini-series “Holocaust” and in 2004 for her movie “Angels in America”.

 

1979 – She won her first ever Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in her performance in the movie” Kramer vs. Kramer”.

 

1980 – She won at the Golden Globe Awards for her movie “Kramer vs. Kramer”. She has a total 6 awards in this award giving body.

 

1982 – She won again in the Academy Awards, this time for Best Actress in her movie “Sophie’s Choice”.

 

1990 – She took a greater variety of roles, including a strung-out B-film actress in a screen adaptation of Carrie Fisher's novel Postcards from the Edge with Dennis Quaid and Shirley MacLaine, and a farcical role in Death Becomes Her with Goldie Hawn and Bruce Willis.
