1971 - Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr., born on the 20th of Ovtober in Long Beach, California. He got the nickname "Snoop" from his mother because she thought he looked like the character in the Peanuts cartoon. He is an American rapper, record producer, and actor.

1990 - He was convicted of cocaine possession.

1993 - His first album Doggystyle climbed its way to the number one spot on Billboard's hip-hop and top 200 charts, based in part on the success of the singles "What's My Name" and "Gin and Juice."

       - He was arrested for gun possession and pled guilty.

1996 - His next album Tha Doggfather also reached the top of the charts.

       - He was also tried and acquitted of murder charges. The case involved the killing of an alleged gang member. The victim was shot by someone in the vehicle he was riding in.

1998 - 1999 - He scored the top slot on the hip-hop charts with his next two albums: Da Game Is To Be Sold, Not To Be Told and No Limit Top Dogg.

2004 - His last big hit with the single "Drop It Like It's Hot", which reached the top of the hip-hop and pop charts.

       - He has branched out into acting and has appeared in the film Starsky & Hutch based on the popular television series.


2005 - He was sued for allegedly sexually assaulted a woman at the taping of the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.

2006 - He made legal news again. He and his posse were taken in custody at a London airport in April after the group got into a fight at the terminal.

       - He was arrested at the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California, on the 26th of October on suspicion of drug and weapons possession. Officers found marijuana and a gun in his vehicle.
