1805 - Born on December 23rd in Sharon, Vermont.

1827 - Married to Emma Hale on January 18th.

1830 - He wrote The Book of Mormon.

         - Organized The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 6th, and received revelations to guide the Church. By inspiration, he called Apostles and other Church leaders, defined doctrines, and taught the principles and ordinances that would lead to exaltation.

         - Founder and first president of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

1831 - Moved Mormon Church from Fayette, New York, to Kirtland, Ohio.

1833-1835 - Wrote "A Book of Commandments for the Government of the Church of Christ" and "Doctrine and Covenants of the Church of the Latter-Day Saints".

1836 - Married to Fanny Alger.

1838 - Moved Mormon Church from Kirtland, Ohio, to western Missouri, and then to Commerce, Illinois (renamed Nauvoo by Smith), establishing autonomous community.

1841 - Married to Louisa Beaman.

1842 - Married to Elvira Cowles, Mary Elizabeth Rollins Lightner, Eliza Roxey Snow and Sarah Ann Whitney.

1943 - Married to Olive Frost, Lucinda Pendleton Morgan Harris, Almera Woodward Johnson, Mary Lawrence and Sarah Lawrence.

1844 - He died on June 27th in Carthage, Illinois.
