1713 – Born in Ireland.


1727 – Immigrated to the United States and settled in Pennsylvania.


1945 – He got admitted to the bar and began practice in Shippensburg, PA.


1775 – Delegate to the state convention in January.


1776 – Organized the Pennsylvania Militia and the two regiments of the Flying Camp in Perth Amboy, N.J.


1778 – Member of the Continental Congress


1780 – A signer of the Declaration of Independence; member of the state house of representatives.


1806 – A brigadier general of state militia, state councilor. He resumed the practice of his profession in York, PA. He died on the 11th of July.
