Smith, Horton
1908 – He was born on the 22nd day of May this year in Springfield, Missouri.
1926 – He turned professional in this year and won his first tournament, the Oklahoma City Open in 1928.
1929 – In this year, he won eight titles. This was an era of expansion and reorganization for professional golf.
1934 - The PGA Tour was founded in this year, and Smith was one of the leading players of the early years of the tour, topping the money list in 1936. He accumulated 32 PGA Tour titles in total, the last of them in 1941. He played in every Masters until his death.
1963 – He passed away on the 15th day of October this year in Detroit, Michigan of Hodgkin's disease.
