1939 – She was born Grace Barnett Wing on the 30th day of October in Evanston, Illinois, USA. She was one of the lead singers of the rock groups Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, Starship and also as a solo artist, for nearly three decades, from the mid-1960s to the mid-1990s.
1956 – She attended Finch College in New York from this year.
1957 – She attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida from this year until 1959.
1969 – She had a relationship with Jefferson Airplane guitarist Paul Kantner, who fathered her daughter Grace.
1985 – Her longevity in the music business helped her earn a rather unusual distinction: the oldest female vocalist on a Billboard Hot 100 number one single. "We Built This City" reached #1 on November 16 of this year.
1988 – She left Starship in this year at age 48.
1989 - After retiring in this year from the music business, she turned her attention to painting. She has done many renditions of mostly her fellow 60s musicians such as Janis Joplin and Jerry Garcia as well as many others.
1999 - Her record stood for 12 years, but was ultimately broken by Cher, who was 53 in this year.
2000 – She began displaying and selling her artwork.
