Shor, Peter

1959 - Born on the 14th of August.

1977 - Attending Tamalpais High School, in Mill Valley, California, he placed third in the USA Mathematical Olympiad.

1978 - He was a Putnam Fellow.

1981 - He received his B.S. in Mathematics in for undergraduate work at Caltech.

1985 - He then earned his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from MIT.

1998 - Nevanlinna Prize.

2003 - Shor began his current MIT position.

2007 - Shor is currently teaching a new course for Spring Seminar in Information Theory.
