1876 - Everette Shinn, born on the 6th of November in Woodstown, New Jersey, USA. He was an American painter and illustrator and member of the Ashcan School.

1888 - 1890 - Studied industrial design at the Spring Garden School in Philadelphia.

1893 - 1897 - He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

1893 - He began his professional career as an illustrator for the Philadelphia Press.

1898 - Became an illustrator for various periodicals, and moved to New York.

1901 - He painted theatre scenes.

1902 - Set designs, usually in pastels, as in ‘London Hippodrome’.

1908 - He was among the founders of the Eight, a school of painting based on Realism.

1953 - Died on the 1st of May in New York City.
