1876 – Everette Shinn, born on the 6th of November in Woodstown, New Jersey, USA. He was an American painter and illustrator and member of the Ashcan School.

1893 – He began his professional career as an illustrator for the Philadelphia Press.
1898 – Became an illustrator for various periodicals, and moved to New York.
1901 – He painted theatre scenes.
1902 – Set designs, usually in pastels, as in ‘London Hippodrome’.
1908 – He was among the founders of the Eight, a school of painting based on Realism.
1953 – Died on the 1st of May in New York City.
